Who Can Enroll?

Performing Hearts classes are open to girls and boys ages 3 to 21+ with special needs. The faculty will help assess which class is best for your child — Creative Movement, Ballet or Tap.

When are the Classes?

  • Ballet/Tap: Wednesdays, from 4:30 to 5:30pm
  • Creative Movement 1: Wednesdays, from 5:30 to 6:30pm
  • Creative Movement 2: Wednesdays, from 6:30 to 7:30pm

What are the Costs?

There is no tuition or other fees for the children enrolled in the program — classes, costumes and admission to the annual recital for the dancers' families are provided by The Dance Academy of North Jersey at no charge to the children' families.

Who Teaches the Classes?

Dr. Patricia Krapels, a Chiropractic physician specializing in pediatrics, and an experienced children’s dance instructor, leads the classes along with a team of volunteer assistants.

How Can I Help?

If you are interested in helping Performing Hearts -- then we are interested in supporting your efforts. Volunteers are always needed to work with the children in class. The children benefit greatly from one-on-one care and attention. Volunteers go on stage with the children during their annual performance. You can also help by getting the word out to families with special needs children who may benefit from the Performing Hearts program. Finally, we are always grateful for any contributions, which are used exclusively for covering the costs of the program. We are reachable by email at info@performinghearts.org, phone at 973-663-2009, or using the contact form.
