Award Winning NYC-based jazz vocalist and composer, April Varner, has often been described as a “direct, authentic singer…”, demonstrating “vocal dynamism… authentic jazz phrasing…electrifying numbers…” and possessing a “profound command of deep scat and vocalese…” (Marilyn Lester, The New York City Jazz Record).
At the age of 27, April has immersed herself deeply into the jazz tradition and has performed/studied with a multitude of legendary artists and jazz luminaries such as Tierney Sutton, Russell Malone, Sachal Vasandani, Jane Monheit, Kurt Elling, and others. April graduated in May of 2022 with her Master’s degree in Jazz Voice Performance from the Manhattan School of Music under the guidance of 2-time Grammy© nominated vocalist and teacher Theo Bleckmann. She was awarded the 2023 Winner of the International Ella Fitzgerald Jazz Vocal Competition and most recently received a 2024 Honorable Mention Award in the ASCAP Herb Alpert Young Jazz Composers Competition. She just released her Debut Album, “April by April Varner” (Cellar Live Record Label), available on all streaming platforms. Michael Demby has enjoyed tremendous success as a true ‘song and dance’ man. He has appeared in eight Broadway shows, including “Ragtime,” “Smokey Joe’s Café,” “Victor/Victoria” (with Julie Andrews, Liza Minnelli, and Raquel Welch), “Disney’s Beauty and the Beast,” “The Goodbye Girl” (with Bernadette Peters), “Grand Hotel” (with Cyd Charisse), “Starlight Express,” and “Honky Tonk Nights.”
He appeared in the New York City Opera production of “Porgy and Bess,” as well as performing in countless television specials, live corporate events, and numerous Broadway National Tours—including “Ragtime,” “Smokey Joe’s Café,” “The Music Of Andrew Lloyd Webber” (with Michael Crawford), “Starlight Express” (lead role of Electra), “Five Guys Named Moe” (featured as Eat Moe), and “Joseph and His Amazing…” (Benjamin Calypso vocalist).
Michael also received much critical acclaim as the star and headliner in two productions at the Taj Mahal in Atlantic City: “Zoot Suit Strut” and “Club Indigo.” In 2017, Michael took to the NYC cabaret stage with his one-man show “Unfinished.” He continues to work on music and hopes to release an album of ‘favorites’.
Angelo Soriano, a proud native of the Philippines, pursued his artistic passions at an early age. He began his dance training under the direction of David Rosales and J.P. Christensen (From Broadway’s Cats and Thoroughly Modern Millie) in Central California. Angelo considers being an alumni student and performer at El Diamanté High School and TCOE Theatre Company a privilege that has lead him to his successful career thus far. He landed his first professional job dancing on a stage in Disneyland in Anaheim, CA. He built quite a reputation there, performing in Disney Channel Rocks, Disney Junior Live Onstage, and Red Car News Boys to name a few. After building much needed experience as a performer, Mr. Soriano moved cross country to the mecca of Musical Theater, New York City. He soon after left to join the company of the National Tour of Flashdance: The Musical. His Broadway debut happened on The New Amsterdam Stage in Aladdin: The Musical where he currently performs eight shows a week as a Swing/Understudy.
Luke Spring was in both the original Broadway cast of A Christmas Story, The Musical and the show’s 1st National Tour. Credits include Disney’s Newsies, Maurice Hines Is Tappin’ Thru Life, Kennedy Center Honors (Tom Hanks Tribute), Tony Awards, Fred and Adele Astaire Awards, and Ford’s Theatre Annual Gala. Luke has performed at Radio City Music Hall, Madison Square Garden, New World Stages, Feinstein’s/54 Below, Arena Stage, and the Apollo, Joyce, Town Hall, Lincoln, and Wallis theaters, among many others.
Luke has also performed with the American Festival Pops Orchestra, internationally as a member of Rhythmatic Tap Company, and at corporate entertainment events around the country. His television credits include The Ellen DeGeneres Show, SYTYCD, Good Morning America, Fox & Friends, CBS Sunday Morning Show, and Good Day New York. Trained in tap, hip hop, musical theater, ballet, jazz, contemporary, lyrical, and improvisation, Luke enjoys sharing his love for dance with others through performing, teaching, and choreographing.
Laura Perich was born in Maracaibo, Venezuela where she began training at the age of 3. She then moved to Houston, Texas where she continued her training with Catriona Steel and completed The Royal Academy of Dance Ballet exams under Steel's direction. After graduating, Laura then joined Texas Ballet Theater's Studio Training Company completing two full years in the program. In 2021, Laura moved to New York City and joined Ballet Hispanico's Professional Studies Program as part of the inaugural cohort on full scholarship where she had the opportunity to tour and be a guest artist for the main company. Laura then joined Complexions Contemporary Ballet as an Apprentice. Laura has had the opportunity to work with and perform works by Annabelle Lopez-Ochoa, Gustavo Ramirez-Sansano, Pedro Ruiz, Eduardo Vilaro, Norbert De La Cruz III, Tsai-Hsi Hung, Morgan McEwen, Ben Stevenson and more. She joined Complexions Contemporary Ballet as a full time dancer in 2025.
Aaron Matson is a North Carolina native, now living in Manhattan. He started playing guitar at the age of eleven, eventually finding his voice in jazz. Matson is a recent graduate of The Juilliard School, where he received his Masters in jazz studies. Matson has performed at The Kennedy Center, Dizzy’s Club at Jazz at Lincoln Center, Chris’ Jazz Café in Philly, Smalls Jazz Club, Ornithology, Yoshi’s in Oakland, the Chat Bavard in Rennes, France, and the Bern Jazz Festival in Switzerland, among many others.
Since 2023, Aaron has been a member of Bryan Eng’s Circle Room trio which holds a residency at Bemelman’s Bar in the legendary Carlyle Hotel in New York’s Upper East Side. In 2021, Matson was commissioned by FENDI and the Juilliard School to compose a piece entitled “Rollerblading in Harlem” for a collaboration video.
Matson’s most ambitious project is the Aaron Matson Nonet, a nine-piece ensemble which released its debut album, Holding on to Yesterday, in July of 2019. He is an avid composer and arranger, having penned arrangements for many groups including The Duke University Jazz Ensemble, the Planet D Nonet out of Detroit and the Jazz Ensemble at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Aristotle Luna began as a trainee with Complexions Contemporary Ballet in the Spring of 2022 while in college. He grew up on Salt Spring and Orcas Islands in the Salish Sea and began dancing full-time at age 10 under the direction of Anthony the Dancer. He was a member of The Island Inspiration All Stars, studied ballet, contemporary, tap, hiphop, salsa, jazz and aerial acrobatics, and performed in many shows, including Billy in Billy Elliot. He also trained with Ariel Serrano at the Sarasota Cuban Ballet School, Homer Bryant of the Chicago MultiCultural Dance Center and did an apprentice-residency with Dance Now! Miami. Summer intensives include Jacob's Pillow, Orsolina28, Hubbard Street, Houston Ballet and Interlochen. Aristotle completed his BFA in dance and graduated from NYU Tisch School of the Arts, in May 2024. In his spare time, Aristotle is an avid capoerista and Charles Mingus devotee. Isaac Beaumont is a professional freelance jazz bassist based in the New York City area. Holding a Master's degree in Jazz Performance from Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music, he actively performs in trios, quartets, and as a solo artist at prominent jazz venues and intimate stages across the city.
